Microsoft stellt ab sofort über das öffentliche Betaprogram Office 2010 zur Verfügung!

Systemanforderungen

• Prozessor mit 500 Megahertz (MHz) oder schneller
• 256 Megabyte (MB) RAM oder mehr
• 1,5 GB; ein Teil des Festplattenspeichers wird nach der Installation wieder freigegeben, wenn das ursprüngliche Downloadpaket von der Festplatte gelöscht wird.
• CD-ROM- oder DVD-Laufwerk
• Monitor mit einer Auflösung von 1024 x 768 oder höher
• Windows XP mit Service Pack (SP) 3 (32-Bit), Windows Vista mit SP1 (32-Bit oder 64-Bit), Windows Server 2003 R2 (32-Bit oder 64-Bit), Windows Server 2008 mit SP2 (32-Bit oder 64-Bit), Windows 7 (32-Bit oder 64-Bit). Terminal Server und Windows on Windows (WOW) (Welches die Installation von 32-Bit-Versionen von Office 2010 auf 64-Bit-Betriebssystemen ermöglicht) werden unterstützt.
• Hardware, auf denen Office 2007 ausgeführt werden kann, muss nicht aktualisiert werden; diese unterstützt auch Office 2010.
• Die Verwendung von Grafikhardwarebeschleunigung setzt eine mit DirectX 9.0c kompatible Grafikkarte mit 64 MB oder mehr Grafikspeicher voraus.  Voraussetzungen und Produktfunktionalität können je nach Systemkonfiguration und Betriebssystem unterschiedlich sein.

Volume Activation Management Tool (VAMT) 2.0 (Beta) is a managed MMC plug-in with support for Office 2010 Beta. Administrators may use it to manage volume editions of Windows and Office 2010 Beta installed with a Key Management Service (KMS) client key or a Multiple Activation Key (MAK). A convenient command line interface (CLI) allows automated, scheduled VAMT tasks without UI interaction.

Das "Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool" richtet sich an PC-Besitzer ohne DVD-Laufwerk. Es überträgt Installationsdateien aus einem ISO-Abbild auf USB-Sticks und externe Festplatten. Das Programm läuft unter Windows XP, Vista und 7.

Mit dem "Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool" (WUDT) hat Microsoft ein Programm veröffentlicht, das eine einfache Installation von Windows 7 auf Rechnern ohne DVD-Laufwerk ermöglichen soll. Es überträgt eine im Microsoft Store gekaufte Download-Kopie von Windows 7, die im ISO-Format vorliegt, auf USB-Sticks oder externe Festplatten. Anschließend kann das Betriebssystem von diesen Medien installiert werden.

Die benötigte Speicherkapazität gibt Microsoft mit 4 GByte an. Zudem kann das Programm auch bootfähige DVDs erstellen. Es läuft unter Windows XP, Vista und 7.

Microsoft bietet das "Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool" über seinen Online-Shop und das Download-Center kostenlos an. Konzernsprecher Brandon LeBlanc erklärte zudem, dass sein Unternehmen mit Partnern an ähnlichen Werkzeugen arbeite, die dann auch über deren Websites bereitgestellt würden.

To easily assess the security state of machines in an environment, Microsoft offers the free Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) scan tool. MBSA includes a graphical and command line interface that can perform local or remote scans of Microsoft Windows systems.

MBSA 2.1.1 builds on previous versions by adding support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. As with the previous MBSA 2.1 release, MBSA includes 64-bit installation, security update and vulnerability assessment (VA) checks, improved SQL Server 2005 checks, and support for the latest Windows Update Agent (WUA) and Microsoft Update technologies. More information on the capabilities of MBSA 2.1 and 2.1.1 is available on the MBSA Web site.

MBSA 2.1.1 runs on Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP and Windows 2000 systems and will scan for missing security updates, rollups and service packs using Microsoft Update technologies. MBSA will also scan for common security misconfigurations (also called Vulnerability Assessment checks) using a known list of less secure settings and configurations for all versions of Windows, Internet Information Server (IIS) 5.0, 6.0 and 6.1, SQL Server 2000 and 2005, Internet Explorer (IE) 5.01 and later, and Office 2000, 2002 and 2003 only.

To assess missing security updates, MBSA will only scan for missing security updates, update rollups and service packs available from Microsoft Update. MBSA will not scan or report missing non-security updates, tools or drivers.
